Wellbeing Assessment and Goals

Upon arrival at Centro Quiropráctico Ibiza you will be welcomed by our friendly and helpful Chiropractic Care Assistants.

We will guide you through our Intake Form to get very clear about your needs, find out about your lifestyle habits, and understand the goals you hope to achieve from your chiropractic care.

We will take you through a complete chiropractic evaluation:

Palpation is used to detect spinal misalignments or subluxations. Subluxations can distort nerve communication between your brain and the rest of your body, affecting your body’s ability to self-heal.

Range Of Motion
A physical assessment to determine whether or not your spine has full and correct range of movement. Subluxations reduce proper spinal movement and flexibility.

When you have subluxations your balance may be affected. Scales are used to determine left and right weight distribution, indicating your center of gravity and demonstrating any imbalance that you may have.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
Spinal misalignments may affect different parts of your nervous system. The Emwave HRV is used to assess your autonomic nervous system which controls the automatic functions of your body and gives an indication of how much stress it is under.

Computerised Spinal Postural Analysis

Subluxations affect your spinal alignment and therefore your posture. A computerised posture evaluation is performed to measure how much postural distortion you may have.

The results of your chiropractic evaluation are then studied to create a detailed Report of Results which is explained on your second visit.

These tests will be repeated at various intervals throughout your care to track your progress.

Wellbeing Scale & Report of Results

Every person has different needs and goals and on this visit you will fill out a wellbeing scale allowing us to create a tailored chiropractic program for you.

We will then discuss the results of all tests previously performed and answer the following key questions:

  • What exactly is going on?
  • Is chiropractic right for me?
  • How long will it take to achieve my goals?
  • How much will it cost in time and money?

Once all your questions have been answered you can receive your first chiropractic adjustment.

We will schedule your next visit and the following day your chiropractor will call you personally to see how you are doing and answer any further questions you may have.

Adjustments, Education and Ongoing Care

You can think of your regular chiropractic visit like a formula 1 “pit-stop” for your wellbeing: time-efficient and effective. You are busy and your time is precious so your ongoing visits are shorter and we work hard to ensure that you are not kept waiting.

Your goals are our priority and so we schedule revision appointments to make sure we are on target and that you are happy with your care. You will fill in a short questionnaire of your progress and we will repeat the initial tests to see how your body is changing. These visits only take around 10-15 minutes longer than your regular visit.

To help you reach your goals faster we run monthly workshops to give you the simplest yet most effective tools and strategies to get your body performing and functioning at its best.

DISCLAIMER: Chiropractic is still not officially recognised & regulated as a health profession in Spain – click here for details.
CHIROPRACTIC, whilst recognised as a health profession by the World Health Organisation (WHO), and forming part of the healthcare system in most developed countries including European countries such as Britain, France, Portugal, Italy, Denmark and Switzerland – many of which recognise it as a primary healthcare profession – WITHIN SPAIN IT IS NOT A RECOGNISED HEALTH PROFESSION AND IS NOT SUBJECT TO REGULATION BY THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT. Because health legislation is a matter of regulatory law under the sovereignty of each EU member country, the chiropractic profession finds itself in a legal vacuum in Spain, meaning there are no laws to regulate it. The Spanish Association of Chiropractors (A.E.Q.) has petitioned the courts and relevant health and education ministries requesting that Parliament boost the legislative process to officially recognise chiropractic as a health profession in Spain. In countries legally recognising chiropractic as a health profession, the chiropractic degree is obtained after 5-6 years of educational training. Two Spanish institutions currently offer five-year chiropractic programs (with unofficial titles) in anticipation of the legal recognition of the profession in Spain: the Real Central University Maria Cristina of Madrid (UCR) and the Barcelona College of Chiropractic (BCC). The training from these institutions meet all the standards of quality and excellence demanded by the European Council of Chiropractic Education (ECCE), and paradoxically, Spanish graduates may work as official chiropractic health professionals in other countries like the United States, France or England, but not in their own country. The A.E.Q. was created and recognised by the Ministerio del Interior in 1986, and has over 200 members with chiropractic degrees recognised by the European Council of Chiropractic, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of professional practice at a European level. Unfortunately so far, these degrees and diplomas ARE NOT RECOGNISED AS OFFICIAL TITLES IN SPAIN. To ensure your chiropractor meets the quality standards established by ECCE regulation of chiropractic in Spain, check and verify that they are a member of the A.E.Q. in “Find a chiropractor” on the website: www.quiropractica-aeq.com. The regulation of chiropractic in Spain is a matter of political expediency, but in the meantime chiropractic professionals who meet the requirements of the AEQ statutes find themselves in a situation of legal uncertainty and disadvantage compared to other professionals from neighbouring European countries. Additionally due to the lack of regulation, Spanish citizens may be treated by unqualified people claiming to be chiropractors who do not meet the minimum international standards.
